Recruitment Services

In an effort to better serve the needs of employers within the region, NOVA Workforce Board has been steadily supplementing its services to businesses in a variety of ways. One of the most widely acclaimed services recently implemented is that of recruitment services. Unlike commercial job development or recruitment agencies that work directly with job-search clients, NOVA’s team of recruitment specialists are available to meet with employers who have specific hiring needs to identify the skills and experience of the ideal job candidate. Drawing from NOVA’s pool of job-seeker clientele, and supplementing this as necessary with clients from other regional employment organizations, NOVA’s recruitment specialists then match appropriate clients to these specific jobs. Through this no-cost service, NOVA has succeeded in providing a valuable benefit to many of the region’s most identifiable companies.

One business that can attest to NOVA’s outstanding recruitment services is Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo visited the NOVA campus to give a presentation about their employment opportunities to a group of 30 pre-screened NOVA job seekers. However, although many attendees expressed an interest in working for Wells Fargo, Wells Fargo did not receive any applications through their online job site. Confused, they contacted a NOVA recruitment team member who, in turn, asked her clients if they had applied for any jobs. The clients responded that they had attempted to apply for Wells Fargo jobs using their online site, but discovered that the site was not working correctly every time. The recruiter relayed this information to Wells Fargo, which was surprised to find out that their site was not accessible. The recruiter recommended to Wells Fargo that, once necessary site changes were made, she have her NOVA clients attempt to access the job application site to make sure the site was, in fact, working. After several fixes and feedback from NOVA clients, Wells Fargo was able to get their job site back online and functioning properly, and hired several NOVA clients for their open positions.

Some of the other companies involved with NOVA’s recruitment services include Intel, Kaiser Permanente, Goodwill Industries, Dionex, Sports Basement, and the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce.
