The CONNECT! Center offers members an opportunity to get individualized assistance from career advisors as well as a full array of workshops to help them with their job search. We have recently added several new offerings.
Companies and recruiters are using LinkedIn to find candidates for their open positions and we now offer two workshops to help job seekers use this tool in their job search.
- Using LinkedIn 1: Clients who aren't familiar with LinkedIn can learn the basics of LinkedIn, including setting up a profile and managing their account settings. They also learn how to add and remove connections and work with their inbox.
- Using LinkedIn 2: Once they are set up on LinkedIn, clients can learn how to use LinkedIn as a job search tool including finding people, using groups, finding job postings, and researching companies. They also get tips on using LinkedIn to prepare for interviews and an understanding of how employers are using LinkedIn.
We've also added a workshop on Job Search Tips for the Mature Worker. Mature job seekers frequently have concerns that their age or number of years of experience may create obstacles in their job search. In this workshop they learn how to identify age-friendly employers, age-neutralize their resume, and answer the tough interview questions related to their experience. |
